On Saturday October 2, 2011 the “Headlines” Video dropped. Showcasing some Toronto land marks (CN Tower and Rogers Centre Sky Dome) it is evident that this Toronto boy loves his city. On the brink of dropping his sophomore album titled Take Care on October 24, we are witnessing the transformation of this artist from boy to man. Sporting a more mature look, more complex lyrics and a more vocals, OVO is about to take OVA Toronto (AGAIN).
June 9, 2011 I was invited by my boy T-Rexxx to guest DJ on MuchMusic Rap City ; showcasing one of my other talents. As I’m known as “The Voice of the Vibe”, I’m sure a lot of people were surprised and thought to themselves “Man…he DJ’s too?!” Admittedly, it was a great feeling to be back on the one’s and two’s; revisiting my foundation.
The appearance was also a perfect opportunity to tell the world about another venture I am pursuing. A KidKut signature microphone line called Voice, is currently in the works. It is a collaboration between myself, Dextrous and DJ Depot and is set to release in 2012! Thanks to my Fam that came out to support and those of you that watched from home. So you know your boy is always representing Tdot and trying to promote local talent from within. This past July 15th was no exception as I hosted the first ever Fame: Turn Up the Lights Summer Fashion Show. I invited the beautiful Nicole Holeness of MTV Canada to be my co-host, and had a few of my friends, including Ray Robinson, Jester, Freeon, and Lissa Monet, pass through and grace us with their musical talent. The event showcased designs by: Noir Masae, Justin Bingal, Miss Jackson Swimwear, Flaws of Couture, DBHC, Mina Danielle and Jool Clothing. The night was a huge success with an audience full of beautiful women that revival the models on the runway. So many people made this night a success but would like to especially thank Vitamin Water, IMAN cosmetics, Velvet Blu and all the other sponsors for their efforts in making the night a success. I would also like to thank all of the gorgeous models from True Colours Model and Talent Agency for dedicating their time to this event. If you were one of the unfortunate few that missed the Fashion show, take a look at the video to see what you miss. Also look out for the next edition of the Fashion show that is planned for later this year.
