GADGETS -The PlayStation Phone

What will they think of next ?

It’s hard to believe that what we’re looking at is real — but we assure you, the picture above is in fact the PlayStation Phone you’ve long been waiting for. As we reported back in August, the device you see is headed into the market soon, likely boasting Android 3.0 (aka Gingerbread), along with a custom Sony Marketplace which will allow you to purchase and download games designed for the new platform. The device snapped up top (and in our gallery below) is sporting a 1GHz Qualcomm MSM8655 (a chip similar to the one found in the G2, but 200MHz faster), 512MB of RAM, 1GB of ROM, and the screen is in the range of 3.7 to 4.1 inches. Looking almost identical to the mockup we hit you with this summer, the handset does indeed have a long touchpad in the center which is apparently multitouch, and you can see in the photos that it’s still bearing those familiar PlayStation shoulder buttons. For Sony buffs, you’ll be interested to know that there’s no Memory Stick slot here, but there is support for microSD cards.

DREAMS SCORPIO FANTASIES – NOVEMBER 20TH,2010

Hennessy VS Blending of the Arts

What do you get when you mix Cognac, 5 Visual Artists, and 5 Musicians? You get the Hennessy Blending of the Arts, a celebration of art and music. More importantly, this fusion has created five unique works of art created on a less than traditional canvas, the iconic Hennessy VS bottle. The reinterpretation of the bottle was in turn commissioned by the likes of from left to right: Questlove and artist Aerosyn-Lex, A-Trak together with designer Dust La Rock, Steve Aoki and graphic artist Laundry aka PJ Richardson, Kid Sister with graffiti artist Fafi, and finally A Tribe Called Quest’s Q-Tip with Spaceknuckle. Unfortunately the bottles will not be available commercially but were revealed at the Hennessy Artistry Halo Party October 14th in New York City.

Kanye – Runaway Video

I sort of gave up on Kanye’s directorial abilities after he directed one of Drizzy Drake’s first videos, but Runaway isn’t “Bad”. It is a little strange but the imagery and symbolism is interesting. The 35 odd minute movie/video is reminiscent of the late King of Pop’s movie/video style (ei. Thriller, Remember the Time) and I’m sure the oversize bust of MJ himself is Kanye’s way of paying homage (or possibly trying to fill void). It was noted that the concept behind the video was a mash-up between the classic tales the Phoenix Rising and Pygmalion (dust off the high-school coles notes) with sufficient imagery at every turn and twist of this tale. I was particularly drawn to the contrast of imagery (whether implied or not) of the dinner party scene. The black dinner guest dressed all in white (served by all white wait staff no less); the all white cast of ballerinas wearing black to-to’s; as well as, an art form as pure and graceful as ballet taking place in a dirty warehouse….brillant! All in all, there are parts that I really liked and other parts that thought were a tad bit strange. Nevertheless pop some pop corn and watch it yourself and let me know what you think. Don’t forget to give a toast to the douche bag!
