I’m sure I was one of many that utter the same words when El Debarge hit the stage at the recent BET Awards..What da Hell?!? Where did they find him? I immediately began to search online to appease my curiosity and apparently I wasn’t the only one. The night the awards aired “El Debarge” searches surged 10,529% ranking in the top 1,000 overall searches on Yahoo. But back to the performance, you have to agree it was mint. His performance of such hits as “All This Love”, “Time Will Reveal” and “The Rhythm Of the Night” brought me back to my youth. What really surprised me is that he still had it; his signature falsetto was intact even after 16 years. For his sake, I’m so glad the performance went well, and he didn’t endure the embarrassment of a failed attempt to rekindle one’s career on a BET Awards shows (*cough* New Edition). If his performance of “Second Chance” is any indication of the caliber of music on his upcoming album (name after the title track) due to release in the fall, it will be a definite addition to my collection. With such producers as Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis, and Baby Face to name a few, I’m sure “Second Chance” will be a solid piece of work. IAE, do I hear an El Debarge Soul Kitchen in the near future?  Just a suggestion…

The Sony PS3 Slim has just gotten a new color, White – 160GB, with a larger capacity version 320GB. These new models will arrive July 29th onwards, where you can choose from the current black and “Classic White” colors. Expect to pay $340 and $400 thereabouts for the 160GB and 320GB models, respectively.

The Colour of Beauty, by director Elizabeth St. Philip, is a short documentary starring Canadian fashion model Renee Thompson. The doc explores the colour bias of the fashion industry as experienced by Renee and other ethnic model. Renee speaks candidly about her experiences as an ethnic model trying to make it in an industry where they will only use you if you look like “a white girl dipped in chocolate”.  Despite the blatant “racism”, she is determined to pursue a career in a field where her only competitive disadvantage is something she will never be able to change..the colour of her skin.

Summertime equals wedding time, but what does a young man wear to “suit” the occasion, combat the heat and perfectly compliment your date (or impress a single bridesmaid)? GQ recently put together foolproof guide to Summer Wedding Survival. Sorted by location, this guide will direct you to looking your sharpest while you transiting the wedding circuit.

For beach weddings they recommend an ultra breathable khaki -linen suit with a dark pair of sneakers or sandals.

If the wedding is near a lake or in the country, they recommend lightweight punchy fabrics like seersucker or madras with a white shirt and solid dark tie.

Finally, if you are attending a swanky downtown wedding GQ recommends a skinny black suit with an equally skinny bow tie; Additionally this would be the only time that a pair of black jeans can be substituted; however, you must dress it up with formal shirt or an elegant tux jacket.

I need this for the weekend. WOW!!!

For the long-anticipated Veyron Super Sports – which follows in the tire tracks of upgraded Super Sports models from the marque’s history – Bugatti has tweaked the engine to produce an extra 200 horsepower over the “standard” model’s 1000. The resulting 1200-horse output, combined with revised aerodynamics, was enough for Bugatti to claim the land speed record at 267.81 miles per hour, achieved at parent company Volkswagen’s proprietary Ehra-Lessian test track in the presence of officials from the Guiness Book of World Records and the German Technical Inspection Agency, making it official.

The Veyron Super Sports will be unveiled officially next month at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, after which full details of customer availability will be announced. For now we know that the first five production models will be painted the same black and neon orange paint scheme as the test vehicle you see here.

Sony launched the new Walkman W series Mp3 players for those who hate to be tangled in wires while listening to their favorite music on the Go. The Walkman can be comfortably plugged into your ears with a small cable behind the head which fits all sizes of heads- big or small.

Weighing just 35 grams, the Walkman is available in five colors- black, white, pink, violet and lime. It features a 2GB storage memory.

With no space for a display, the Walkman’s ‘Zappin’ feature allows the users to find the right tunes easily by just clicking the Jog Dial operation on the inside earpiece.  A fully charged battery gives a music playback of upto 12 hours. Also, a quick charge function allows the user to enjoy 90 minutes of music playback with a charge time of just 3 minutes. The Walkman can also be charged through a USB cable used for the music transfer.

The ‘Content Transfer’ software included with the pack allows the users to transfer the music to the Walkman from online music services, like iTunes by simple ‘Drag & Drop’ feature.
